On arriving at Hodka Village, I located my village resort “Shaam-e-Sarhad†meaning “Dusk at Borderâ€. The place owes its name to its proximity to the Pakistan border. The resort had a very modest entrance bringing forth the very earthy flavour of the place alive.

The moment I parked my car, a young chap came running towards my car to escort me to the reception area. Once in the reception area, I was greeted warmly by a flock of traditionally dressed men in their very colourful attires. Their facial features and dresses made me feel as if I have been teleported suddenly to the world of “Arabian Nightsâ€. I could easily notice the close similarity of these natives with the people of the Middle East – tall built, sharp features and reddish skin with deep yet sharp eyes. Must say… attractive persona.
My anthropological thought process was interrupted when the man across the counter asked me to complete the formalities for check-in. Once done, I was shown to my Eco-friendly tent. I kept marveling at its various remarkable facilities, as that was more than what one could have expected in a desert.
